NHS encouraging residents to have their say about health

[column]

Residents from across the Fylde coast are invited to drop-in to Listening Cafes NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group has organised for this year.

The Listening Cafés operate on a drop-in basis where people can talk face-to-face with the CCG about any concerns, compliments or good ideas they may have.

These free events are a chance for anyone to share their views on local health services with a member of the patient engagement team at Fylde and Wyre CCG. The CCG welcomes any news that a person wishes to share with them.

All feedback will be used to help develop current projects and will be sent to the team to improve future health services.

Jennifer Aldridge, chief nursing officer at NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG and executive lead for patient engagement, said: “Our Listening Cafés are an important part of what the CCG does.  In taking the time to talk to our residents we understand what is important to them and this helps us to develop high quality services.”

There is no need to make an appointment. The drop-in sessions will take place on the following dates:

  • Clifton Hospital, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1PB (17 September, 10-11:30am)
  • Knott End Library, Knott End, FY6 0AU (22 September, 11am-12pm)
  • Northfleet Library, Fleetwood, FY7 7ND (30 September, 11am-12pm)

There will also be a chance to speak to a member of the CCG about joining its Influence Membership scheme. By joining our Influence Membership scheme, you will have the chance to share your views on the healthcare provided in Fylde and Wyre and act as a health champion in your community. The scheme, which currently has more than 800 members, is open to all Fylde and Wyre residents and individuals registered with a local GP. Patients, carers, the general public and employers of all ages are most welcome.

For further information about the drop-in sessions, please contact the CCG on 01253 956400 or email [email protected].
